Item: Uniqlo x Jil Sander M65 Hooded Jacket (Black/Dark Grey)
Description: Easily my new favorite jacket.  Uniqlo, while not such the entity in the US, is a gigantic corporation here in Japan, clothing those who are not out to spend enormous amounts of money but still want to look fashionable on the streets.  Uniqlo has been compared to Gap, H&M, hell even Old Navy, but to be honest nothing can compare.  The use of high quality fabrics and materials, with proper quality techniques of sewing, on location alterations (free of charge), accessories not often found in clothing stores like bags, shoes and umbrellas, and collaborations with high end fashion names makes Uniqlo stand apart.  This is such a collaboration; in the autumn of 2009 Uniqlo sided with Jil Sander, a german fashion designer known specifically for her slim, dark-toned use of luxury fabrics.  I love the feel of the wool on this jacket; it's been approx 4 months since I've own this jacket and the wool remains smooth and slippery.  The lining is also a very now-trendy slick oil polyester shell, and the devil-in-the-details chrome-shadow hood fasteners are the perfect color for this black/dark grey color scheme.  Of course it's warm too but I must admit, I bought this jacket purely for looks.
