Item: Supreme x Neighborhood v2.0 Savage Denim (Black Medium Straight)
Description: The phenomenon of denim began shortly after my brother introduced me to the beneficial attributes of selvedge denim.  For those not in the know; denim is such a commodity of subtle quality and dedication that most people take it for granted, ignorant of the differences between a pair of A.P.C.s and a pair you find for under $10 for the entire family at Old Navy.  Supreme has been known to release quality denim both selvedge and non, but it's Neighborhood that takes the cake.  The effects that NBHD employs is simply unheard of in a domestic US market; the wash effects, the rips, tears, re-sews, triple/quadruple chain stitching, scars, even down to the color of denim cotton is spot on.  This cross collaboration, the second of the series, finds the mix of raw denim (unwashed, untreated, "stiff" denim) and washed effects, giving it a well balanced subtle yet loud "if the light hits it right" presence.  Notice the choice of dark navy blue stitching for the scars along the leg.  Also notice the whiskering under the waist (each pair's pattern of whisker is unique), the contrasting thick gauge string used to hem the leg cuffs, the placement of scarring over the knee as to show for an example that it was perhaps a strong knee to a sharp surface that may have ripped the denim, needing a scar stitch.  I love these jeans.  The price tag, while below retail and market value, may have been high, but I must say this pair of denim will be cherished for a while.  I'm also looking for a pair in Indigo.
